How to obtain Google file id when creating a file from iOS device using Swift
I'm creating a file on Google Drive using the REST API in swift (I have the REST v3 CocoaPods installed).
I'd like to be able to immediately retrieve the Google file id so that I can upload updates to the file, so I need to know the file ID that Google assigned it when the file was created (as the update GTLRDriveQuery_FilesUpdate.query wants to know the file ID).
I can get the file ID by sending a file list command and parsing through the file names until I get a match and then save the associated file ID), but this seems kludgy and doesn't help when there is more than one file with the same name.
The following posts are said to solve this problem for Android (How to get Google Drive file ID which has a link to this post with the author's final solution Unpredictable result of DriveId.getResourceId() in Google Drive Android API).
Has anyone been able to successfully adapt this for iOS using Swift? I'm pretty new at this and am now stuck!
