Docker file permission from outside the container on linux host

0

I set up a two docker services (containers) by creating a stack.yml file. After running docker stack deploy -c stack.yml my_service I reached my project at 127.0.0.1:8080 but I can not edit the files which I mounted on my host system (Ubuntu 18.04) with my IDE (PHPstorm).

The only two ways which work are the following:

Setting different permissions inside the container

  1. docker exec -it container_id bash

  2. chown -R * 1000

  3. Edit the files (but now I can't reach the project because of the wrong permissions

  4. chown -R www-data *

Now I can reach the project.

Running the IDE as root

  1. Go to phpstorm.sh

  2. Run sudo sh ./phpstorm.sh

I can't believe that these are the only possibilites to work with docker in dev mode!

This didn't help.
