Maximizing memory limit in R?
I understand you can increase memory limits via
memory.limit(size=10000000000024)
However, what is the maximum input allowed here. I am running on a pretty large company server with plenty of memory space. I am still getting the error:
Error in .jcall(rp, "I", "fetch", stride, block) :
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded
Even after increasing my memory limit.
I am restarting the R session, and running the memory increase before anything else.

That's not an R memory problem, it's a Java memory problem

Possible duplicate of R RJDBC java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

Please read How to Create a Minimal, Complete, and Verifiable Example and update your post accordingly. We need to see how you're using Java-based components in your code, since the error message indicates that Java is out of memory, as noted by @HongOoi.
