Problems with VSCode Intellisense in different files using JavaScript

I have a problem with Intellisense in VSCode and wanted to ask if this is a general issue.

I have two files:

// app.js

var homeRouter = require("./router/homeRouter")
var http = require("http");
var port = process.env.port || 3000;

var app = http.createServer(function requestListener(req, res) {
var home = new homeRouter(req, res)

if (home.isValid()) {
// do something
}

});

app.listen(port);

console.log("Server started. Listening to http://localhost:" + port);

and

// router/homeRouter.js

var homeRouter = function homeRouter(req, res) {
this.req = req;
this.res = res;
}

homeRouter.prototype.isValid = function isValid() {
// do something
}

module.exports = homeRouter;

In app.js Intellisense knows that req: IncomingMessage and I see all methods etc.

enter image description here

In router/homeRouter.js is req: any.

enter image description here

Can I configure VSCode that it "knows" that I use homeRouter with req and res and "passes" it to router/homeRouter.js so that I see all methods etc.?

Thanks in advance!
