Can not codesign python plugin

I have a custom made python plugin that i use in my swift application, however I am having difficulties code signing it.

When the plugin is added in Xcode to the "Embed Libraries" the build process fails with:

Command CodeSign failed with a nonzero exit code

After further reading the error code it states that the plugin is not signed at all, hence I tried to separatly CodeSign the plugin.

First I tried the command:

codesign --deep --verbose --force --sign "3rd Party Mac Developer Application: *Name*" *PathToPlugin*.plugin

Where Name is the Name of the developer and PathToPlugin the respective Path.
This however, failed with the following code:

resource fork, Finder information, or similar detritus not allowed

I do not really understand how else I can get my app to codesign since this plugin is essential. The plugin is built from python using Py2App and the final app is written in Swift if it is of any importance.
