Ionic 3 - Google Maps - API KEY provided but still getting “Keyless access to Google Maps Platform is...
I'm aware that this is due to the changes made on June 18 regarding API KEY requirements.
However I have enabled billing and am providing an API KEY and am still getting the error :
{"error_message":"Keyless access to Google Maps Platform is deprecated.
Please use an API key with all your API calls to avoid service interruption.
For further details please refer to http://g.co/dev/maps-no-account",
"results":,"status":"OVER_QUERY_LIMIT"}
I have already tried combinations of:
- adding/removing Android platform
- adding/removing google-maps plugin
The code used to add the plugin is :
ionic cordova plugin add cordova-plugin-googlemaps
--variable API_KEY_FOR_ANDROID="MY_API_KEY"
--variable API_KEY_FOR_IOS="MY_API_KEY"
I've even tried testing from the CLI using :
curl https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=Cape&key=MY_API_KEY
but got the same error above
Any ideas what could be causing that error despite providing an API Key else I should check ?

Note : I have confirmed that the requests are hitting the Google side, as I see increased Requests, with no errors. So maybe it is just that the quota/limit will be reset at midnight tonight and it might work after that.
