How to reuse social app's sessions in browsers on iOS/Android (deep linking)

Is it possible (for example for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+) to open their apps instead of their websites when using OAuth.
For example using fb://www.facebook.com/v3.0/dialog/oauth
instead of https://www.facebook.com/v3.0/dialog/oauth
as an URL to redirect to.
Most of the times users are already logged in the particular app but not in their mobile browser. This is the reason I am searching for a solution.
Do they all support this in their apps and what can be potential pitfalls ?
