Dom not updated in vue test

I am testing a Vue component in jest test. This is written in coffee script:
wrapper = testUtils.mount(App, {localVue, router})
expect(wrapper.find('#item-frame').text()).toContain('FooBarItem1')
wrapper.find('#no').trigger('click')
expect(wrapper.find('#item-frame').text()).toContain('FooBarItem2')
The last line fails, and from the logs I know that the click handler happens, and the data variable which is displayed in the template is being set to 'FooBarItem2'. Also, it works when I try it out manually. I have no experience testing vue apps, this is my first test.
The template is:
<template lang='pug'>
div#browse-new
#item-frame {{content}}
</template>
Edit: I found that adding this line before triggering the click is required for the content to be updated in response to it.
wrapper.find('#browse-new') # this magic line is needed before triggering the click for the test to pass
