How to “play” a sequence of photos in Android

I want to be able to display a sequence of photos like a flip book. The latest tool I discovered and am trying to get working is AnimationDrawable. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to add photos to the Drawable; when I cast a pointer to AnimationDrawable, I get a NULL.



    ImageView splash = findViewById(R.id.splashAnimation);

    if ( splash != null ) {

        Drawable d = splash.getDrawable();

        AnimationDrawable animation = (AnimationDrawable) d;

        File directory = getFilesDir();

        File files = directory.listFiles();

        for (int i = 0; i < files.length; i++) {

            Bitmap bitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(files[i].getAbsolutePath());

            animation.addFrame(new BitmapDrawable(getResources(), bitmap), 30);

        }

    }


At line #4, I get a SEGFAULT at address 10. I think the problem is trying to cast Drawable to AnimationDrawable. Is there another way to do this?

Many users want appendices to be grouped in an Appendix part, however some problems arise with ToC, hyperref, PDF viewer bookmarks, and so on.
