How to store mapreduce output into a variable?

0

The problem is to find the department in which number of projects is 40% more than total number of projects in the company.
My idea is to calculate the total no. of projects and then calculate the no.of projects dept. wise, and using both outputs find out the answer.

here is the code to find total number of projects:

    public class totalNoProjectsMapper extends Mapper<LongWritable,Text,NullWritable,LongWritable> {

public static long sum = 0;

@Override
public void map(LongWritable key,Text value,Context context)throws IOException,InterruptedException
{
String tokens = value.toString().split(",");
long no_of_projects = Long.parseLong(tokens[2]);

sum+=no_of_projects;

context.write(NullWritable.get(),new LongWritable(sum));

}

I want the output of this job to be stored into a variable so that I can use it another mapreduce job (all programs are in the same Project in eclipse)
