Android mockito setting a value is not working
I am having code like this -
This is my test -
obj = new Obj();
obj.setId("1");
status = new MyStatusObj();
status.value = true;
callback = mock(MyCallback.class);
MyClassImpl myClass = new MyClassImpl(callback);
when(cache.getStatus(obj.getId()))
.thenReturn(status);
// Run
myClass.runCheck(obj);
// Verify
InOrder inOrder = Mockito.inOrder(callback);
inOrder.verify(callback, times(1)).onComplete("WAIT");
inOrder.verify(callback, times(1)).onComplete("OK");
inOrder.verifyNoMoreInteractions();
This is the class under test -
MyClassImpl.java
public void runCheck(Obj obj) {
callback.onComplete("WAIT");
MyStatusObj status = null;
if (obj != null && obj.getId() != null) {
status = cache.getStatus(obj.getId());
}
if (status == null) {
callback.onComplete("NO");
} else {
callback.onComplete("OK");
}
}
The test fails because he expects a "NO" but I want "OK". This happens because the status is null.
Why is the status null?

OK, next question - where is your class getting itscache
object from? How are you making sure it's got your mockedcache
object?

I have mocked it as well - PowerMockito.when(getCache()).thenAnswer(new Answer<CacheInterface>() { @Override public CacheInterface answer(InvocationOnMock invocation) throws Throwable { return cache } });
