If it possible to change request url and force user login to different url?
I have two different domain for same app, eg. test1.com.au and test2.co.uk. I am trying to get user from respective country to be redirected to respective url after sign in i.e. if Australian user sign in from test2.co.uk then they should be signed in and redirected to test1.com.au home page. I have used devise for authentication.
Is it possible to get this through js? When user logs in getting the country of user through ajax request and then sending the request on different url.
However this method goes through devise create action but does not really sign in user i.e devise authenticate_user method has current_signed_in_user nil.
$(document).ready(function() {
var url, email;
$("form#new_spree_user").submit(function(e){
e.preventDefault();
alert('Default prevent');
email = document.getElementById('spree_user_email').value;
$.ajax("/return_host", {
type: "GET",
beforeSend: $.rails.CSRFProtection,
data: {
email: email
},
success: function(data) {
host = data["host"];
console.log(host);
url = host + "/spree_users/sign_in";
$.post(url, $('form').serialize())
}
});
});
});
Return host method on sessions controller:
def return_host
member = User.find_by(email: params[:email])
country_code = member.site.code
host = country_code == 'UK' ? 'http://test2.co.uk' : 'http://test1.com.au'
respond_to do |format|
format.json { render :json => { 'host': host } }
end
end
What could be the best approach to get through this problem?
