second form doesn't work in jquery and ajax

0

I have two forms to validate one the register-form gets validated just fine
but the second one login-form doesn't both share the same HTML and PHP files.

$(function(){
$("#register-form").validate({
rules:{
inputEmail4:{
required:true,
email:true
},
inputPassword4:"required",
inputfirstname:"required",
inputlastname:"required",
inputdate:"required",
gender:"required"
}
});
});

This is the second form for validation this doesn't work.

$(function(){
$("#login-form").validate({
rules:{
inputEmail:{
required:true,
email:true
},
inputPassword:"required"
}
});
});
