Is there a list of expandable TeX macros? LaTeX? e-Tex? others?
According to @ChristianHupfer's comment here
I understood that calculations are possible in a keyval
list when the macro is expandable. The macro numexpr
being expandable, calculations are possible.
Hence the interest in knowing which macros are and which are not expandable from TeX
, LaTeX
, e-TeX
, etc.

Anything that “stores” data is not (except in LuaTeX). If you have doubts about a particular macrofoo
you can dotexttt{meaningfoo}
and see if there's any assignment (for exampledef
, or any command definition, or anything that stores something).
