Express/NodeJS res.send() after a res.render()

0

I need to render a waiting page, perform a process and after finishing the process of redirecting to another result page. Same as this code:

app.get('/calculate', function(req,res){

res.render('waiting.ejs');

cal_result().then(function (){ //Function in a promise,
//it's takes 8-10 seconds
res.redirect('/success.ejs');
});

});

What would be the easiest and most correct way to do it?

  • Easiest to use AJAX on waiting.ejs that calls the calculate endpoint. When calculate finishes in the AJAX call, then you can redirect to the success page.
