Correlated column error in Databricks SQL cell

0

I have a SQL query in Jupiter Notebook on Azure Databricks that is giving me the following error

Error in SQL statement: AnalysisException: Correlated column is not allowed in a non-equality predicate:

The query looks something like this

Select p.PrdId, p.ProductDescription, p.PoolId, p.UomId, p.MpgId,
(Select First(ToDemandGroupId) From MasterData.UpdatesToProduct up Where
(
IsNull(up.DemandGroupId) = 0
Or
up.DemandGroupId = p.DemandGroupId
) ) as DemandGroupId1
From Raw.ProductPreUpdates p

If I do either of the 2 parts in the where clause of the subquery separately then the query works, but when both pieces are there it gives this error. So if I have just IsNull(up.DemandGroupId) = 0 it works or if I have just up.DemandGroupId = p.DemandGroupId it works, but not with both.

The problem is with the p.DemandGroupId part of the query. If I replace up.DemandGroupId = p.DemandGroupId with up.DemandGroupId = 4, then that also works.
