How to create my own table/figure environment with alignment of the caption on the left [without package]
I want to create my own environment for tables and figures in such a way that the caption is aligned to the left and the formatting caption uses a dot instead of a colon, e.g,
Table x. My caption
Some table
This is my first approach:
newenvironment{mytable}[3]{%
gdefmycaption{#2}
gdefmylabel{#1}
begin{table}[!htbp]
caption{mycaption}
centering
begin{tabular}{#3}
}{end{tabular}end{table}label{mylabel}}
I would like to do this without the use of packages if possible.
Thanks in advance.
