Error when calling a JS function on my chrome extension
I'm getting an error when trying to execute the copyToClipboard function in my chrome extension. I don't know why I am getting this error because I made a different js file to run the function and inlcuded it with the in the html one.
The error is the following one
function copyToClipboard() {
/* Get the text field */
var clearing = 'Hola chicos'
/* Select the text field */
clearing.select();
/* Copy the text inside the text field */
document.execCommand("copy");
/* Alert the copied text */
}<body>
<div class="modal-header">
<h1 class="logo">
<img src="images/meli-logo.png" alt="" class="logo-icon" style="width: 100px; height: 100px;"> ML Template Test
<div class="version">(1.0.0)</div>
</h1>
</div>
<div class="dropdown">
<button class="dropbtn">Retiros</button>
<div class="dropdown-content">
<button onclick="copyToClipboard()">Clearing</button>
</div>
</div>
</body>And this is my manifest
