How would I indent the second line so that it looks like the following.
*Note: Don't mind the change in font. I wrote that in Text Editor :)

documentclass{article}
title{This is my first document}
author{Avocado}

  • That hspace{...} is not working because it's at the beginning of a line: you should use hspace*{...} (starred version) instead. Moreover, you can use the macro noindent at the beginning of the first line if you want to suppress its automatic indentation.

  • As an alternative to using hspace* since with that the second line by default starts at page left. If you want to start another indented paragraph just replace it with par I would like this line to be indented as well

  • Can you give us a bit more detail about what the end goal is? Do you want a whole paragraph indented after the line? Is the first line a new paragraph or the beginning the the paragraph with the indent? Depending on what you really want the indent for, there may be different ways to do it.
