Text not wrapping in a manually created hanging indent reference list in Lyx

I'm attempting to turn an already created Word reference list into a standard hanging indent list in Lyx.

As suggested in answers to other questions, I have used the

usepackage{hanging}

begin{hangparas}{.25in}{1}

Reference 1

Reference 2

Reference 3

end{hangparas}

mostly with success, however I encounter an issue where the long DOIs at the end of some of my references do not automatically wrap, but instead run into the margins or even off the edge of the page. I've not found anyone writing about this particular issue. Is there a simple way to fix it?
