attribute.type.toSql is not a function

I have turned on hasTrigger option on sequelize and am now getting this error.

I am using model.update and receiving this error.

UnhandledPromiseRejectionWarning: TypeError: attribute.type.toSql is not a function

Any help would be welcomed. I can not post the schema I am working with. I am using MSSQL on the backend.

---- update

I slimmed my update down to a single field and am still receiving this error. I have a feeling this is a package issue.
